SOM5708-A Introduction


Introduction


Based on TI AM570x processor, SOM570x-A is EMAs Lead-Free and immersion gold material, 8-layers layout, industrial grade design SoM, which can be served as the core of your industrial motion control system and video&audio processing system.


The SoM integrates all the core component of TIAM5708/5706, including ARM Cortex-A15, C66x™ Floating-Point VLIW DSP@750MHz and PRU-ICSS. SOM570x-A enables you to use flexible size of RAM and FLASH Memory based on different applications, thus supporting 512MB~2GB DDR3 and 4GB~16GB eMMC.


SOM570x-A is versatile for industrial applications. SOM570x-A supports multiple industrial protocol such as EtherCAT, meanwhile, the product can easily implement bus control and industrial networking. Through C66x DSP, a variety of algorithms such as motion control interpolation algorithm are implemented. For further image processing and industrial control, SOM570x-A is capable of communicating with FPGA through GPMC bus.    


Audio and video processing are other typical applications of SOM570x-A. Integrates four McASP and C66x DSP, SOM570x-A is the best choice for multi-channel audio processing such as echo cancellation and sound localization. In addition, this product is very suitable for complex image recognizing, video analysis and real-time data analysis.


SOM570x-A supports Linux 4.9.28 OS and DSP RTOS. For real-time data processing, RT-Linux system is also ready to run. EMA offers complete SDK including the demo of multicore communication between ARM and DSP, which let you to take advantage of EMA products to shorten time-to-market, reduce development costs, and avoid substantial design issues and risks.
